This 1961-1964 Chevy Impala Steering Column Shaft Coupler Block Retainer is an original used GM part. The retainer holds the two small swivel blocks that attach to the lower portion of the steering shaft. Not all vehicles came with this retainer but it does help ensure consistent pression on the blocks so they function properly.
